All-Star lifestyles! Milford Little League state champs are also winners away from softball

By Rick Menning

MILFORD, CT -- Throughout this week, the Milford Little League Softball Major Division All-Stars have shown up at Brewster Field with the eye of the tiger as they prepare for regional competition.

With the start of the New England phase of the tournament in Bristol fast approaching, the Connecticut state champions are putting the finishing touches to their overall game plan which they hope will catapult them into the Little League Softball World Series in Greenville, North Carolina.

But like all young ballplayers, there's a time to take a serious approach to their mission and a time to shift over into other aspects of their lives.

'BACK' AT IT! The Milford All-Stars will return to the diamond this weekend for the Little League Softball New England Region tournament in Bristol. The home state warriors take on Tiverton, Rhode Island on Saturday (July 23) at 4 p.m.

Away from their field of dreams, this amazing group of 12-under dynamos are also great at balancing fun times with a blueprint for success as individuals.

When they are not ripping slingshot hits at opposing fielders or grabbing grounders and fly balls in tournament action, the Milford girls transition from a focus on teamwork to individual goals and aspirations off the diamond.

Each member of the Milford All-Stars and Little League Softball Major Division state champions answered a questionnaire that gives some insight and perspective into the names on the backs of their uniforms.
